The background is messy and takes away from the doll, which is the part, the doll you want to show off. You need to draw the attention to your doll; the simplest way to do this is you either have a plain wall, or simple cloth. If you use black then one that is mat helps absorb light and looks better. That way people focus on the doll. You can then liven that up later with mesh or choose to use different types of paper, I did one shot with newspaper. I have also seen old wallpaper. Go crazy!

Although because of how the doll is dressed the wallpaper in the background work work well if that was the only thing you could see.
